Chatham High School’s back field buzzed with joy this past Thursday, October 8th, as students and staff gathered to celebrate wellness at the Annual Chatham High School Wellness Fair. The afternoon event was a lively celebration of health and positivity.
This year, the Wellness Fair focused on three specific campaigns: The Week of Respect, which celebrates mutual respect and community; Anti-Violence, to foster school communities that are safe and supportive for all; and Red Ribbon Week, promoting a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.
Community vendors and student-led groups set up interactive tables with fun activities; everyone found something for them, and everyone left with resources and valuable lessons on how to embrace a wellness mindset.
Each provided students and staff with educational resources, pamphlets, or both, to encourage wellness among the Chatham community, and many also offered fun activities and free giveaways to students and staff alike. Everyone left with a prize, whether that’s candy from the CHS Psychology Club stand, a book from the Library of the Chathams’ stand, or even a chance to play hacky sack at the CHS Chinese Club. A particular hit was the therapy dogs, who provided much-needed stress relief in the middle of the school day.
To maximize the festivity, students who came and got a stamp from each community vendor were entered into a raffle, continuing the joy across the entire week.
This year’s Wellness Fair was a huge success for the Chatham High School community, remembered for its engaging activities and valuable lessons on wellness. Thank you to all the community vendors, student groups, organizers, and attendees who helped make this celebration so memorable!
