Do you have an interest in photography? The Photography Club, a brand new club that was started by Andrew O’Day and Dylan Kane, recently hosted its first-ever photo contest centered around one theme: car photography.
The contest invited students to submit their best shots of cars, and the responses showed the interest and talent there is in photography at CHS. Six students participated, ranging from freshmen to seniors, each bringing their own unique photos to the challenge.
After reviewing the entries, the winning photo was submitted by freshman Henry Eddy. His photo stood out among the group, earning him the top spot in the club’s first contest.
The club is all about giving people an opportunity to explore photography, regardless of their experience level. According to advisor Mr. Clark, “Photography club is perfect for people who are new to photography!” He emphasized that the club is open and accessible, adding that “Anyone can join at any time.”
Mr. Clark also shared what makes photography so meaningful to him: “My favorite part about photography is being able to capture a moment forever, and I think humans will always be better at that than AI.” This was definitely reflected through the contest, as each student captured unique images.
With its first contest complete and more likely on the way, the Photography Club is off to a strong start. Students interested in joining can do so through Schoology using the code 878F-JWB8-KB996, with no experience required!
