This past week has seen plenty of fun, exciting Spirit Week Challenges— including our CHS School Spirit Pep Rally! The competition was intense, but ultimately, there were only two winners: the Sophomores, in the underclassmen division, and the Seniors, in the upperclassman division. However, the Freshmen are currently in the lead for overall spirit points.
The competition featured events such as the scooter relay-race, the free-throw competition, the potato-sweeping challenge, grab-the-cup, and, of course, the teacher musical chairs. Unconventional events, but I think it represents the creativity of the Chatham High School class.
But the real stars of the event were the students who volunteered to represent their respective grades and compete for us. Every single one of them really brought alive the sense of school unity and, well, spirit, that defines us as such a unique, passionate school community. I urge you to give congratulations to these students, whether or not your grade won.
Furthermore, I urge you to give sincere thanks to the faculty who both organized the events and to those who competed in them as well. Without them, this event would never have happened at all, and certainly not in the same way.
While the spirit competition may be over, your grade can still win points towards the end-of-the-year party. Keep an eye out for the posters detailing what to do for spirit week in the hallways!
