Buckle up, students, because we are about to plunge into the sizzling kettle pot of opinions, where hot takes are spicier than your grandma’s secret hot sauce recipe! We’re entering the arrays of some daring, curious, and downright weird opinions. Three fearless juniors, Esteban Izuerita, Nick Carles, and Finn Sadler step up to challenge the norms, one unusual opinion at a time.
Nick Carles wages war on the library during study hall. He comes out saying that he’d rather sit in the cafe than be enclosed in the restrictions and harshness of the library. While many students tend to choose the book-cluttered library to do their studying, Nick argues that the cafe’s freedom, vast space, and lively atmosphere make it a superior study spot. Nick seems to have found enlightenment amongst dirty food wrappers and janitors sweeping.
Enter Finn Sadler, the rebel who’s advocating against cold water. According to him, lukewarm water is the catholicon of life. While most athletes may reach for a cold sip after a hard run or a gnarly wrestling sequence, Finn would guzzle some lukewarm water. Finn says that he always feels dehydrated and warmer water is just easier for him to chug. In my opinion, it’s a gross, but practical solution.
Esteban is on a mission to reclaim the hour of free time from bubbling explosions and chemical equations during his lab period. He passionately argues that lunch is the one hour a day where students have to socialize, while there should be a distinction between free time and scientific rigor. Though, does anyone actually enjoy sacrificing their beloved lunch-time to various science courses? Probably not many.
In high school, where conformity reigns supreme, spicy takes are rare, but enthusiastically debated. Whether you find yourself standing beside these juniors and their opinions or shaking your head in disbelief, one thing is for certain: these bold viewpoints have stirred the pot, making our everyday banter a little more exciting.
