Now that we have completed our third week in quarantine, everyone is looking forward to going outside and meeting up with friends and family. However, while we do our part to help flatten the curve, the best thing to do is stay positive about our current situation and look forward to all the things that we have missed.
The CHS Staff recently shared their perspective on the quarantine. For each question, you will find a summary of all responses received as well as a few highlighted comments!
→ What is one good thing that resulted from the quarantine?
“Getting enough sleep (Not just a student thing!) & cooking more homemade meals than usual.”
“Spending time with my family and our new puppy!”
“One good thing about the quarantine is a dramatic increase in gratitude for health, comfort and safety. Missing simple, everyday things like running out for a bagel or being with friends makes us appreciate how special and beautiful those little moments are.”
“Definitely family time . . . my son is home from college, so it’s nice to see him every day with my daughter and husband, too. Watching movies that I don’t usually have time to watch is great, also.”
“I am able to spend more time with my significant other and my family, which has been lovely so far!”
→ What is the first thing you want to do when this quarantine is over?
“Get together in person with friends for a big BBQ!”
“The first two things I want to do when quarantine is over: (1) see my daughter play softball, and (2) take my son, his girlfriend, and our family out to dinner to celebrate his 21st birthday.”
“Take my 86-year-old mother to visit her 90-year-old sister (my aunt)! My aunt has not been well, and they would really like to see each other!”
“One good thing that has happened as a result of the quarantine is that my family plays outside in our yard a lot more, and we also Facetime friends and family quite often, both of which have been fun.”
“I want to clean as much as possible (spring cleaning!!) I also want to organize a lot of work from this year and get my personal life back on track.”
“The very first thing I will do is race to my daughter’s houses and hug my grandchildren for about a week straight!!”
→ Anything else you would like to share?
“I want to go out for a nice dinner and help support our favorite restaurants!”
“This is a really hard thing to do but as long as we stay calm and focused we will be stronger for having gone through it. I am grateful from the bottom of my heart for the health care workers on the front lines at the hospitals.”
“I’m trying to learn to play the guitar!”
“Teaching in person is a lot more fun! I hope most students think the same thing about learning in person. At the same time, I’ve really been impressed that everyone (staff & students) have adapted relatively quickly to our very necessary reality! #stayhomesavelives”
“Be kind, and stay positive :)”
Thank you to everyone who shared their responses. The CHS Chronicle staff hopes that everyone stays safe and has a wonderful sping break. Although we may not have believed this a month ago, we are all looking forward to going back to school.
