Congratulations to Chatham High School flautist Melissa Danitz.  Melissa recently returned from an unforgettable experience as a member of the National High School Concert Band in Nashville,Tennessee on October 27-30. After performing with students from across the country at the National Music Educators convention, Melissa then traveled to Atlantic City to perform with the NJ All-State Orchestra on November 5-8.
Over this four-day event in Tennessee, musicians stayed in the beautiful Gaylord Oryland Hotel in Nashville. Melissa said, “It was an honor to rehearse and perform under the baton of conductor Dr. Boonshaft, who has a strong passion for music.  Rehearsals lasted eleven hours, but Dr. Boonshaft kept the energy going so all the musicians could play the repertoire to the best of their ability and achieved the unthinkable.  Through all the hard work and effort, the ensemble achieved an outstanding and memorable concert. I am extremely grateful to be selected for such a high honor ensemble and hope I will get the chance to meet up with some of my fellow musicians in the future."
