You Can't Take it With You
Get ready, CHS, ‘cause the annual fall production is coming up! This year, Chatham’s Theatre Department is excited to be staging a comedy, George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart’s You Can’t Take It With You.

You Can’t Take It With You focuses on the eccentric Sycamore family, whose members routinely embarrass their daughter Alice, the play’s protagonist. When Tony Kirby, Alice’s boyfriend and the son of a wealthy, dignified family (everything the Sycamores are not), brings his parents to dinner with Alice’s family, chaos and comedy ensues.

The fall play boasts a great cast of both returning and new actors. Senior Neil McCaffrey, who plays Tony Kirby, said, “ChaTheatre has been quite an experience. I’m really going to miss it when I graduate.”  The cast often talks about how close-knit they are. Lilly McGrath, a junior new to CHS Theatre last year who plays Alice, stated, “The theatre community is a really great group of kids that is always fun… there’s never a boring moment.” As with every new school year, there are new actors in the show. Junior Calvin Torkelson, who recently moved to Chatham from California, said, “The Theater Department at Chatham High School has been very accepting of me. I have enjoyed working with the fabulous cast and crew on the fall play, and I think it will be a hilarious hit!”

You Can’t Take It With You will show on Friday November 18th and Saturday November 19th, both at 7:30 PM. Chatham’s second fall production under the direction of Mrs. Russo is sure to be a great one, so be sure to buy your ticket as soon as possible!
