Wing Eating Contest
It’s not everyday that the cafeteria gets different menu items.

Well it is but that’s besides the point.

Recently, new Cafeteria options have become available, and it’s actually pretty good. The student council organized various events from two different chain restaurants so far: SmashBurger and Tito’s Burritos.

On Friday, February 3rd, the Student Council organized a Smashburger Lunch, where students and staff could order from the restaurant to be delivered to the school on the 3rd. All funds went to support the Freshman class of 2020. Now, around the beginning of March, Sophomore students were able to purchase Tito’s Burritos and chicken wings on PayForIt or order it in the lobby, similar to the last food even. The food was then distributed to students in the A/B gym. Except this time, on Wednesday, March 15th, there was a wing eating contest held as well, so students could enjoy eating their food and watching others in a hardcore competition. The contest was open to both students and teachers in which they had to finish a whole tub of chicken wings before everyone else.

It was one of those things that are kinda horrifying to watch but you couldn’t really look away.

Regardless, the fundraiser went pretty smoothly, the A/B gym was pretty crowded with people eager to watch. Yet, there are still many questions to be answered from these curious incidents of spontaneous restaurant food events. The Freshman and Sophomore classes had their events, what about the Juniors and Seniors? Will they each get their own specific restaurant? How soon can we expect new events? Will this be a yearly thing?

If there are specific plans for Junior and Senior food events, we will most likely hear about it on Schoology, probably sooner than later, so keep your eyes peeled.

Stay woke people.
