The Assassin’s Creed series first began as a simple action/stealth game that gave players the opportunity to experience the life of an assassin. Since then, the series has developed and expanded. Ubisoft’s newest addition to the series, Assassins creed IV Black Flag, allows players to experience the life of Edward Kenway, a greedy pirate who unknowingly joins the fight against the secretive Templar Order.  The storyline for Assassin’s Creed IV is surprisingly refreshing and will not disappoint fans of the series. According to Kyle Burns, “Assassin’s Creed 4’s campaign is unlike any other Assassin’s Creed game.” The gameplay of Assassin's Creed IV brings back the core mechanics of the previous games, and adds some new features.  These features include an upgraded shooting system, upgraded ship warfare, and fast travel. After you have completed the main story, the multiplayer is also worth playing as well. Assassins Creed 4 is sure to satisfy anyone who is a fan of the series or anyone who enjoys open-world games.

Batman Arkham Origins illustrates the life of the Batman prior to the events of Batman Arkham Asylum. This aggressive and unexperienced Batman gives players the opportunity to see how he progressed as an individual over the years. The storyline is extremely gripping and events are unpredictable. With gameplay, Arkham Origins introduces several new gadgets as well as a diverse range of enemies. Jonathan Namovic gave his opinion on the new features. “The combat mechanics are really good and I love the new gadgets.” Also, for the first time, the Batman Arkham series introduces multiplayer. The multiplayer involves two rival gangs, as well as the characters Batman and Robin. The gang members fight against each other while Batman and Robin try to silently intervene. It will give players an interesting perspective and added playing time. Overall, Batman Arkham Origins is a successful addition to the series. It is recommended for fans of the previous games or fans of Batman.

Have you ever wanted to experience a game with epic explosions and bullets flying all around you? If this applies to you, then you should definitely look into buying Battlefield IV this holiday season. Battlefield IV is made up of a campaign and a multiplayer. The campaign is decent but players don’t have to play the story unless they feel it is necessary. However, the main aspect of Battlefield IV is the outstanding multiplayer. Through the words of Andrew Van Wickler, “Battlefield IV has a fun and immersive multiplayer experience.” The maps for the multiplayer are massive, and adapting. The destructible terrain gives players the ability to change the area around them for a tactical advantage. This change in terrain can be from a basic removal of a wall to the obliteration of a skyscraper. If you enjoy a good action game, or are a fan of the previous Battlefield games, then Battlefield IV is for you.
