It’s the most wonderful time of the year again, and there is only one question on the minds of everyone in existence. What do the residents of CHS do for the holidays? Well hold on, dear readers, because I have just the answer for you.

I had the great honor of interviewing both students and staff at CHS to figure out what they find themselves doing when the holidays roll around each year. Aside from being serenaded by the majestic voices of Mariah Carey and Michael Bublé as an unspoken constant throughout my journey, I was pleased to hear about the different activities that my classmates and teachers partake in to celebrate the holidays in their own unique ways.

Salutations and exclamations for the Green Team’s sortation stations! In a joint effort to reduce waste during lunch in the CHS cafeteria, the Green Team and Environmental Club have now implemented a way for students to sort their leftovers and trash easily and efficiently. Old garbage cans have been replaced with brand new sorting stations with three separate sections: one for trash, one for recyclables, and one for compost. Unfortunately there are a select few who have taken it upon themselves to misuse the school’s newest asset and sabotage the effort to rid the school of unnecessary garbage.

Newly introduced this year into the vast selection of electives at CHS is the aptly named “Talking the Talk.” Available to all who have passed freshman English, “Talking the Talk” focuses on improving the conversational and presentational skills of everyone who signs up.

The class revolves around three main units of study: conversation, storytelling, and presentation, each with its own final project.
