As everyone is getting adjusted to another new school year and everything that has changed over the summer, the students facing the most changes are the freshmen--new building, new schedule, new teachers, and new students. The whole transition to high school can be a little daunting. That is why I decided to compile a list of advice from CHS seniors to help freshmen get used to high school as quickly and easily as possible.

How did you spend your November break? Twenty-one French students spent it traveling to the Canadian province of Quebec and its largest city, Montreal. The students, ranging from French 2 to French 4, were accompanied by Madame Caulfield, Mrs. McCabe, and Mrs. Chapman. A luxury bus took them to and from Canada, as well as to the various sites they visited.

When summer began winding down and school was right around the corner, the CHS students looked at their finalized schedules. Many probably noticed teachers’ names that they had not heard before. This is because six new teachers joined the CHS faculty this year! So, The Chronicle decided to interview three of them to help students and staff get to know them better.

The annual Chatham High School Fashion Show is coming up on March 11, 2016. Every year, seniors model the latest fashions from local shops including DJ Crater, Prima, Macy's, and TJ Maxx. This year the theme is The Tonight Show. About 200 seniors, more than ever before, will be participating in this fun and exciting event. They must attend many rehearsals beforehand to get ready for the show.

On Friday November 20th, the fourth and final Hunger Games movie, Mockingjay Part 2, was released in theaters. I was excited for this movie because I have read all the books and seen and liked all the previous movies. I almost felt obliged to see it because I had become so attached to the series and hoped it would not disappoint when compared to the rest of the movies.

Halloween is a day full of costumes, candy, and of course, being scared.  Haunted Hallway at Chatham High School was no exception.  It was held Friday, October 30th in the L-wing.  Haunted Hallway was organized by the National Art Honor Society, and much planning and preparation was needed in order to pull off such an event.  Costumes, decorations, and actors were all essential in making Haunted Hallway a success.

Do you enjoy art, but find yourself not being artistic enough to even take Intro to Studio Art? Well, this year, a new history course is being offered at Chatham High School.  It is AP Art History, taught by Mr. Meguerian.  Offered to eleventh and twelfth graders, AP Art History is a full-year course worth five credits.  This course is challenging but interesting, and it extends from prehistory and the first art dated to 30,000 B.C.
