This year, the Chatham PTO sponsored fashion was a whirlwind of fun for the audience and the graduating seniors of 2015. The show, which featured senior models, started with a performance by No Strings Attached, Chatham’s all girl a capella group, who performed slowed down versions of Britney Spear’s “Toxic” and “Beyonce’s Crazy in Love”.

Each Year, Chatham High School seniors enrolled in AP Studio Art receive the opportunity to display their work in Chatham’s Rizzo Gallery, located at 32 Watchung Avenue. This year, Chatham’s AP art curriculum was so high in demand that the class needed to be split into two different periods, each being taught by Chatham High School art teacher Eric Hreha.

Each spring, Chatham High School Seniors are granted the unique opportunity to enter the workforce and experience a job in the field of their interest. The four week long program requires 25 hours of work each week, starting in May and concluding in June.

Looking to support the fight against a disease that affects more than five million people in the United States? Chatham High School’s newest club is the ADA (Awareness of Dementia and Alzheimer’s), spearheaded by Chatham math teacher Mrs. Winters and juniors Jacqueline Hickey and Emily Conlin.

Every year, the HSPA, or the High School Proficiency Exam, is administered to eleventh grade high school students by the state of New Jersey, which they are required to pass in order to receive that coveted diploma at graduation (think, the close cousin of the NJASK).

Lights, camera, action! Every year, Chatham High School students eagerly await the annual Homecoming Dance thrown by the Pep Club, a celebration preceded by the traditional homecoming football game. This year was no exception, with the dance held on Saturday, October 26, 2013, in the AB Gym. The theme that was decided upon this year was “A Night With the Stars,” which went exceptionally well with the formal attire of the evening.

Every year after Thanksgiving is done and over with, families wrap up and freeze their leftovers, clean up the kitchen, and head out the door in the early hours of the morning to venture out into the realm of Black Friday shopping. With stores like Target and Sears opening as early as 8 PM Thanksgiving night this year, it is safe to say this day has become widely anticipated by many Americans throughout the year.

Homecoming is a tradition at Chatham High School that has many students jittery with excitement and as the event draws nearer, the anticipation rises. Traditionally, Homecoming was a custom in universities in which the alumni would return to their alma maters for activities such as sports games and parades. The alumni would greet old friends and join together once again and the festivities would end later on with a dance. Like Chatham High School, one tradition of homecoming week was dress up days, or spirit days.

Mercedes Benz Fashion Week hosted designers ranging from Vera Wang to Abby Dawn from September 5th to the 13th.  These designers showcased the new trends for Spring 2013 that you should be sure to look out for.
